What's in the Box?
Each size arrives with its own specific components for assembly. Based on rigorous testing, our smaller frames do not require internal bracing to maintain a perfect, drum-tight stretch. Our kits include:
- All Sizes: Four solid wood edge bars, pre-stapled canvas, 4 corner keys, shipping tube, and foam wrap.
- Size 24"x30": (Note: This size does not require or include a cross-bar/dual braces. The 4 corner keys provide total tension control.)
- Size 30"x40": Includes one horizontal solid wood brace and its corresponding brace keys.
- Sizes larger than 30"x40": Include full solid wood dual braces, 4 brace spines, and all 8 tension keys for maximum stability.

- Upgraded Stretcher Bars: The new design uses professional-grade wood that is both stronger and more lightweight than the previous version.
- Machined Edges: The bars now feature a rounded machined edge and more traditional corners.
- Improved Bracing System: Unlike the old design which used a single horizontal brace with plastic parts that were prone to breaking, the new version includes both a horizontal and a vertical brace for increased stability.
- Lighter Overall Weight: Due to the new materials, the overall package is several pounds lighter, making it easier to carry and more cost-effective to ship.
New Assembly and Tensioning Features
- Brace Spines: The system now includes four "brace spines" that slide into the stretcher bars and lock onto the braces via pre-installed nails.
- Tensioning Keys: To address issues with canvas sagging in humid climates, the new design includes 12 keys: eight for the braces and four for the corners.
- Adjustable Tightness: By tapping these keys into the braces or corners with a mallet, artists can customise the canvas tension to their specific preference.
- Simplified Disassembly: The keys and spines are designed to be easily popped out when an artist needs to disassemble the canvas.
What Remains the Same
- Assembly Method: The canvas still fits together in the traditional way by sliding the corners together, which can be done by hand or with a mallet.
- Velcro Attachment: The method of folding and securing the canvas corners using Velcro remains unchanged from the previous design.
Packaging: The product still ships in the signature Genie tube with the same standard packaging materials.
